Once mainly used to provide wireless connectivity to laptops, Wi-Fi is nowadays a technology employed by an enormous number of heterogeneous devices Such diverse devices entail issues related both to the throughput required to assure a satisfactory Quality of Service, and to the spatial reuse management to provide a fair distribution among the nodes in the network. The newest revisions of the IEEE 802.11 standard plan to tackle them.
