He studied Electronics in the Higher School of Electronics \u201cEUCLIDES\u201d of Thessaloniki. He acquired a Diploma in Advanced Electronics from Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (T.E.I.Th), in 1987 and M.Sc in Quality Assurance from the School of Applied Sciences and Technology of Hellenic Open University, in  2007. He received his PhD from the School of Engineering and Design of Brunel University, U.K, in 2011. The main scope of his research is the design and implementation of RF MEMS switches for reconfigurable antennas. He has published about 30 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, conference proceedings and books and he has served as a reviewer for international journals. His main research interests lie in the area of RF MEMS switches, Reconfigurable microstrip antennas, Sensors and measurement systems.
