Stefanos Ougiaroglou holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (2004) from department of Informatics of Alexander TEI of Thessaloniki, Greece, a M.Sc. in Computer Science (2006) from the department of Computer Science of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a PhD in Computer Science (2014) from the department of Applied Informatics of University of Macedonia, Greece. The title of his PhD thesis is “Algorithms and Techniques for Efficient and Effective Nearest Neighbours Classification”. His PhD studies were supported by a Scholarship from State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y) of Greece. From 2016 to 2019, he was conducting postdoctoral research on “prototype generation algorithms for data streams and large training datasets” at the department of Applied Informatics of University of Macedonia, Greece. Therefore, he holds a Post Doctoral Certificate from this department. Moreover, S. Ougiaroglou holds a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence (2010), ASPAITE, Greece.
Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the field of “Data Mining” at the department of Information and Electronic engineering of the International Hellenic University (IHU). In the past, he was an Assistant Professor in the field of “Intelligent Systems” at the department of Digital Systems of University of the Peloponnese, Greece. He teaches Programming, Algorithms, Data structures, Data bases, Data mining and Web technologies. Also, he has employed as laboratory lecturer at the department of Information and Electronic Engineering of IHU and the department of informatics of Alexander TEI of Thessaloniki, Greece, as an adjunct part-time lecturer/instructor at Dept. Of Telecommunication Systems and Networking of TEI of Messolonghi, Greece and as computer science teacher at public secondary education. His research interests include data mining algorithms and knowledge discovery, machine learning, data management, databases and indexing, algorithms and data structures, educational technology and web development. He has authored several journal and conference papers in these fields.
