The HEInnovate webinar- The role of AI in shaping higher education

The next HEInnovate webinar will take place on Thursday, the 18th April 2024 at 5pm CEST. It will explore how artificial intelligence is shaping higher education, the questions it raises and the  opportunities it offers. The webinar will be moderated by Zsuzsa Javorka, Partner, and Lead of the Education and Skills Group at Technopolis. Zsuzsa will be facilitating the discussion of our speakers:

Sean O'Reilly has worked with the national representative association (THEA) for Ireland's technological higher education institutions since 2012, in a number of roles supporting the rapidly evolving Technological Higher Education sector in strategic, data-driven decision-making, change management and quality enhancement. He represents THEA on the National Academic Integrity Network, a collaborative network of all higher education institutions which is facilitated by the national quality assurance agency. Sean is also a member of the Steering Board for a €40m two-year transformation programme across the technological sector. This programme, known as N-TUTORR and funded by #NextGenerationEU, is designed to transform learning, teaching and assessment. Sean will focus on actions underway in Ireland to plan for, and reflect on, the implications of AI for academic integrity and the wider opportunities for AI to enhance learning.

Orestis  Trasanidis spearheads the EIT Artificial Intelligence Community and serves as the managing director of EIT Hub Silicon Valley supporting the development Deep Tech and reskilling/upskilling initiatives. Prior to these roles, he worked as a project engineer in large development projects and in European innovation projects. He also led Ecothess, a voluntary environmental team, where his efforts garnered recognition through award-winning social innovation projects.  He has participated in international initiatives and conferences, and he was honored as EU-US Young Leader by the Fulbright Foundation.
