Efstathios Antoniou received his BSc degree in Mathematics (1994)and his PhD in Mathematical System Theory (2000), from the department of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the decade 2000–2010 he has been employed as a post-doctoral researcher in several research projects in the area of Mathematical System Theory and Computer Aided Control System Design (CACSD). Since 2002, he has also been employed as an associate student advisor at the department of Computer Science of the Hellenic Open University, as visiting assistant professor at the department of Sciences of the Alexander Technological Educational Institution of Thessaloniki (ATEITh) and the department of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2008, he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics at the department of Sciences of the ATEITh, and in March 2016, he was promoted to Associate Professor at the department of Information Technology of the ATEITh, which in 2019 merged with the International Hellenic University. His research interests lie in the area of Algebraic Methods for Linear Multivariable Systems, Polynomial Matrix Descriptions, System Stability, Numerical Linear Algebra and the Development of Numerical and Symbolic Algorithms for Mathematical System Theory.
